Yilmeh

The Yilmeh Academy is the brainchild of Waa Makor, a Liberian-born teacher in the Los Angeles unified school district, who bought a 22 acre lot in her home country with dream of one day founding a school there. The campus is conceived of as a completely of-the-grid, self-sustaining set of structures, using the natural equatorial sun, wind and rain, capable of educating up to 100 students as well as providing services to the community at large. This project is currently in its conceptual stage and is expected to be completed by January 2010.
